Blame it on the South in the summer, but we've got ants! Just a few, the little tiny ones that I think are only drawn to sugar. Just wanted to quickly write a post letting you know that I solved the problem with salt. Yes, salt!

I was hesitant to use a spray or call an exterminator out to use chemicals with Ellie and the pets around, so I googled "naturally rid of ants" and I found some pretty hilarious ideas and concoctions. I went with the easiest and cheapest route/recipe: salt.

I poured salt mounds (I was picturing the little guys hiding behind them like soldiers hiding behind dunes with their guns at their sides) all along the window where I suspect they were coming in from. I also poured some around the sink (need to re-caulk).

Lo and behold! Two days later...no ants! Still no ants today and it's been over a week. I vacuumed the salt off of the countertops a few days after and still no ants.
